Who we are
A living forum for Romanian constitutionalism
We believe a strong constitutional culture is built through dialogue. That is why we gather professors, judges, researchers, practitioners and students around the same table. We debate, do research and try to understand together how the Constitution shapes public life.
As the Romanian national association affiliated with the International Association of Constitutional Law (IACL-AIDC), we carry the voice of the Romanian school of public law into the world's great debates: from the roundtables at Villa Noël to the World Congress in Bogotá, from the conferences in Chișinău to World Constitution Day in Lugano.

What we do
Our areas of activity
International cooperation
We represent Romania in the IACL-AIDC, took part in the World Congress in Bogotá and in World Constitution Day in Lugano, and partner the constitutional law conferences held in Chișinău.
Research and publications
We support research and young constitutionalists, promote the Constitutional Law Review and relay the case law of the Constitutional Court and the debates of the worldwide constitutional community.

The 27th edition of the ARDC Annual Roundtable takes place on Friday, 25 September 2026, at CEREFREA Villa Noël, under the theme "Democracy and Demagoguery: Contemporary Challenges to Constitutionalism". The full programme is now available.
ARDC at World Constitution Day 2026, Lugano
On World Constitution Day, celebrated in Lugano, Prof. Marieta Safta presented on constitutional justice in the face of new challenges, from artificial intelligence to global governance.
ARDC at the World Congress of Constitutional Law, Bogotá 2026
The association was represented at the 12th World Congress of Constitutional Law (WCCL 2026), which gathered over 2,500 participants from five continents in Bogotá, by ARDC President Prof. Marieta Safta and Honorary President Prof. Elena-Simina Tănăsescu.
