About the association
The mission, history and leadership of the Romanian Association of Constitutional Law.
Mission
Our mission
The Romanian Association of Constitutional Law aims to promote the study and scientific research of constitutional law, to develop national and international academic dialogue and to strengthen constitutional culture in Romanian society.
To fulfil this purpose, the association:
- organises conferences, roundtables and seminars dedicated to the great themes of constitutional law;
- supports fundamental and applied research, as well as the training of young researchers in the field;
- develops academic cooperation with associations, universities and institutions in Romania and abroad;
- represents the Romanian community of constitutionalists within the International Association of Constitutional Law (IACL–AIDC).
History
A tradition of constitutional debate
The community of Romanian constitutionalists has grown over the years around the Annual Roundtable of constitutional law, an academic tradition that reached its 26th edition in 2025. The association continues and develops this tradition, giving it a permanent institutional framework.
As the national association affiliated with the IACL–AIDC, the ARDC is part of the worldwide network of constitutional law associations and helps represent the Romanian school of public law in international academic fora.
