2025 Annual Roundtable: "Security and the Constitution"

On Friday, 10 October 2025, the Romanian Association of Constitutional Law held the 26th edition of its Annual Roundtable at CEREFREA Villa Noël in Bucharest, under the theme “Security and the Constitution: National, European and International Legal Dimensions”.

The proceedings were opened by the association’s leadership, with partner messages delivered by Prof. Elena-Simina Tănăsescu, President of the Constitutional Court of Romania, and Prof. Ștefan Deaconu (University of Bucharest).

The debates unfolded in two sections — Security and the Constitutional Order and Dimensions of Security — addressing topics such as the defence of the constitutional order, the frontiers of security, the neutrality of the Republic of Moldova, governmental continuity and the competences of constitutional courts.

The closing session featured an address by special guest Prof. Gonzalo Ramírez Cleves (Universidad Externado de Colombia), a preview of the IACL 2026 World Congress in Bogotá, and the ARDC General Assembly.
